DESCRIPTION: One of my favorite collections is the Franklin Mint Egyptian Revival brooch set.
This sphinx cat brooch is keeper of the pyramids.
It is detailed & dimensional.
The piece features a very regal cat bathe in rich, satin-finished, gold tone metal.
It wears a collar of eight genuine, cabochon cut, deeply saturated Carnelians, that appear to glow.
Above the Carnelian wreath is a band of blue enameling & another larger Carnelian stone.
Below, the sphinx cat has a band of enameling on its legs.
You can see its toes.
The cat’s eye is represented by a black bead
It is even wearing a large hoop earring. (Love that!)
Great piece with a solid weight.
The original black Franklin Mint box accompanies the pin.
